From 17 August to 24 October 2007, the Labor Arbitration Center (CAL) held several seminars to raise awareness about the new Labor Law (Law No. 23/2007, of August 1), which entered into force on 31 October 2007.
There were 10 workshops in total, including 7 in Maputo, in which 5 were in Portuguese and 2 in English. The remaining 3 workshops were held in the provinces, namely, Inhambane, Beira, and Nampula.
The Minister of Labor, Maria Taipo, was present at the opening seminar on August 17, and the Vice Minister of Labor was present at the seminar in Inhambane.
In total, about 900 people were sensitized.
CAL also organized training courses on the Labor Law according to the needs of some of the center’s clients.
Currently, the Training Plan for 2008 is being prepared, in which the new Labor Law that is now in force will continue to be divulged.
We are available to our customers to organize training courses within their companies, in particular, training in the area of labor relations in accordance to needs of the company and its employees.
